Tonight we read “Ten Apples Up On Top!” Not one of my favorites, but Evin wanted to read it again so he must have liked it!
A rare glimpse of Katelyn with her hair down…hanging out before bed time.
Or kack kack kack! Katelyn learned what her ducky (a new best friend) says and she’ll tell you every time she picks him up. She’ll also “kack” on queue, if you ask her.
She really seems to be picking up a little bit of language here and there lately. It’s mumbled, of course, but she’s definitely paying attention. I swear she’s saying “I got it!” every time she gets something she doesn’t think she’s supposed to have (or tried hard to get). It’s probably that mom/baby talk that people are always talking about, right?

Katelyn’s sooooo almost walking. Here’s a video of some practice we did last weekend…

Evin was especially testing today; really putting our patience to the test. I would say he was half evil and half thug–Vince may have a different opinion. In this pic we were at Kohl’s doing some shopping. He’s wearing a hat to make him thuggish, making his “mad face” to express the evil, and adorning the shirt I bribed him with so he would be good–somewhat.
Katelyn’s first successful shopping cart ride. Of course, we strapped her in, but she was awesome the whole time! Maybe her brother helped keep her a little bit less crazy? Nah! (see above photo of crazy brother)
Katelyn says “Hiiiiii!”

We’ve always told Evin that if he eats everything on his plate then he can have a snack (believing he’d never be able to do it). Tonight, his dad told him he could have vitamins (gummy) as a snack, so I guess he was extra determined to finish. He ate a plate full of spaghetti, carrots, grapes and bread. He had already had vitamins today so I gave him some gummy fruits. Needless to say, we had to have a talk. From now on, he gets healthy food for a snack (fruits or veggies) if he eats all of his food. I hate to see the kid over-eat every night for some gummy fruits!
I don’t know how this child got back there. It was barricaded under the table (green box) and the play pen is pushed up to the edge. However, she got back there and was happily snacking on a plant (in her hands). She’s a sneaky one, this Katelyn.
One of the many things I love about Evin is finding his little toys in precarious places throughout the house. Here is a tiny penguin from the center of a nesting doll that Gma J brought him from Russia. It’s set, ever so perfectly, on the bottom ledge of our TV. I imagine his dad told him to pick up his little toys because Katelyn was waking up and this is was a perfect, safe place for his tiny penguin.
Katelyn had her first encounter with the iPad tonight. A little fun with Uzu
